OVERVIEW
The Valuing Our Water workstream group focuses on the the community involvement, understanding and education surrounding water resource issues within the Deben catchment. Key actions will be to provide a focus on water literacy, empowering local communities with accessible information about the catchment's health, and to enhance access opportunities for enjoyment of the river itself.
WHY IT MATTERS
Water resources in the Deben catchment are under increasing pressure, with implications for both people and the environment. By addressing how water is valued and managed, the group aims to safeguard the resilience of local communities, businesses, and wildlife, ensuring the river continues to provide essential ecological and social benefits.
DELIVERY
The group organises workshops and engagement activities as part of the Recovering the River Deben programme, jointly delivered by stakeholders. It is also exploring public perceptions of water use across the catchment, including behavioural patterns, to inform future engagement and shape effective resource management strategies.
